Laura Goben - Oboe

Laura Goben has been an active teacher and performer throughout the Pacific Northwest since her return to the area in 2013. She is on faculty at Central Washington University in Ellensburg and the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, and teaches privately in Olympia, Ellensburg, and Kent. In addition to The Sound Ensemble, she performs with the Olympia Symphony, the MidColumbia Symphony, the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra, and the Olympia Symphony Wind Quintet. Before moving back to Washington, Ms. Goben was principal oboe of the Eugene Concert Orchestra, and second oboe, english horn, and oboe d'amore for OrchestraNEXT, the resident orchestra for the Eugene Ballet.


Ms. Goben received her Master's of Music from the University of Oregon and the University of Michigan with her Bachelor's in Music where she studied with Dr. Nancy Ambrose King. She is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and was initiated into the Alpha Chapter in Ann Arbor.
